Two Overton County men face several charges after a loaded handgun and drugs were found following a traffic stop in Algood Saturday.
According to arrest warrants, Algood Police stopped 26-year-old Joshua Cobble of Rickman, and 42-year-old Linden Cook Jr. of Livingston, along Big Mac Drive.
Upon searching the vehicle, the officer found several drugs and drug paraphernalia in Cobble and Cook’s possession, including 1.4 grams of methamphetamine, two morphine pills, less than a gram of marijuana, and a set of digital scales. A loaded 25 caliber handgun belonging to Cobble was found by the driver’s seat.
Cobble faces multiple charges, including two counts of possessing controlled substances, one each for possession of meth and morphine. Cobble was also charged with one count each of possessing a firearm, possessing drug paraphernalia, simple possession of marijuana, and driving on a suspended or revoked license. His bond was set at $10,500.
Cook was also charged with possession of meth as well as two counts for simple possession or casual exchange. His bond was set at $5,000.
Both Cobble and Cook have since posted bond and are set to appear in court August 27.
