Halfacre Named Park Manager At Edgar Evins

Edgar Evins State Park has hired Brad Halfacre as park manager.

Halfacre said it’s a position his father previously held from 1996 to 2014.

“I always wanted to be a ranger,” Halfacre said. “Being named park manger and falling into the family legacy is really a dream come true.”

Halfacre began serving the position earlier this month and went through training this week.

Halfacre said one of his goals as park manager will be continued work on a viewshed behind the park cabins.

“I look forward for the opportunity to enhance our cabin area by providing this viewshed. It’s going to help us economically and keep our cabin occupancy up,” Halfacre said.

He’s also excited about getting a new mountain bike trail completed within the next few years.

“Adding this trail is going to be a huge draw to our park,” Halfacre said. “It’s something that’s going to take us some time, but we’ve got goals to get a little bit further each quarter.”

Halfacre said his future goal would be getting an indoor meeting facility built at the park.

Halfacre takes over for Kenny Gragg, who promoted into area manager.
