Glenn Hale will serve as the new Chief Executive Officer of Tri-County Electric Membership Cooperative.
That announcement after former CEO Paul Thompson retired. Hale is not an unfamiliar face as he has spent the last 23 years with the co-op as the Director of Finance and Administration. Hale said he is excited to step into his new role with the co-op.
“Being from Macon County and the local area having grown up and gone to school here it’s quite an honor to be able to serve my home community,” Hale said. “And to work with the members of all of Tri-County Electric and the south-central Kentucky and into the Upper Cumberland area.”
Hale said he believes his years of experience will help the co-op better serve its members. Hale said his main goal as CEO is to provide reliable electricity.
“I believe I understand the needs of our members and what they expect from us as far as their provider of electricity,” Hale said. “I understand the need to try to maintain rates as low as possible and provide reliable service to our members.”
Hale said he has some big shoes to fill coming in after Thompson.
“Paul has been a great mentor and has done a wonderful job for Tri-County Electric for a long time,” Hale said. “Where we are today is in large part and credit to his effort and dedication to the members of this area we serve.”
Hale said he looks forward to continue building a great relationship with the members. Hale said he wants his employees to know he is there for them and that he will do his best to support them.
