A local citizens’ group concerned about infringement on personal and economic freedom will rally Sunday on Cookeville’s Courthouse Square.
“While Putnam County has (to date) only experienced 94 cases of Coronavirus, thousands of jobs have been lost and liberties taken away without traditional public debate and legislation by elected representatives,” Organizer Nancy Donadio said in a release. “Many local businesses, which are the backbone of our local economy,
have shuttered their doors forever.”
The rally will give citizens who feel their personal freedoms have been infringed upon during the COVID-19 outbreak the chance to pray and rally peacefully.
The Prayer and Freedom Rally will take place at 1-2pm Sunday. According to the release, similar rallies will be held statewide.
“They will pray for God to heal our land and will petition for the restrictions to be eased and lifted so that freedom-loving citizens may resume their livelihood and daily activities,” the statement said.
