Bank of Putnam County officials announced a grand opening date Monday night for it’s new building in Monterey.
The grand opening will take place August 17th, 2019.
Director of Business Development John Story said the bank has a special offer for businesses that choose to set up vending booths that day.
“All they have to do is bring their wares and bring us the invoice for it because we will pay for everything that they bring and hand out for free,” Story said. “We want everybody to profit that day.”
Story said specific plans for the new two-story building are still being worked out.
“We are going to be assuming ownership of five new offices in East Tennessee in the month of January,” Story said. “That will raise our number of offices to 19 in nine different counties. What this means for Monterey is that geographically it puts our corporate footprint square down the center of Monterey.”
The new building is located on West Commercial Avenue across from Farm Bureau Insurance.
The bank made the grand opening announcement during Monterey’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting on Monday.
