Gainesboro Working Towards City Trash Pick Up

Gainesboro city trash pick up could be near as Alderman Ricky Head said he is working on a plan with Jackson County officials.

“I did get with Randy Heady about us taking, if we started picking up trash, us taking it to the county dump sites,” Head said. “He said that he didn’t see an issue with it, but he wanted me to meet with Solid Waste Committee and ask them, because he didn’t want to go above their heads.”

City employees would be in charge of pick ups if the county lets Gainesboro use its dump sites. The schedule is unknown at this time.

Head said he would return to January’s meeting with more details. Head first introduced the idea during November’s Board of Alderman meeting.
