Funding for the Cookeville Senior Center won’t be restored by the Putnam County Commission.
Members of the senior center requested funding to be restored during a fiscal review committee meeting Monday night, but none of the commissioners made a motion to restore funding.
During this year’s budget process the county decided to eliminate $10,000 in funding for the center that has 900 members and at least 150 daily visitors.
Eliminating the $10,000 leaves the center with a $29,170 allocation from the county compared to $39,170 they received last year.
