Four Upper Cumberland counties reported COVID positivity rates above 25 percent Thursday led by Overton and White County.
Both communities report positivity rates of 35 percent according to data from the Tennessee Department of Health. That means one in three COVID tests conducted produced a positive result. Both counties reported eight additional cases Thursday. That brings White County’s total to 154. Overton County has 93 active cases currently. That’s down from 122 last Thursday.
Dekalb County’s positivity rate stands at 31 percent. Pickett County data shows a 25 percent positivity rate.
Putnam County’s positivity rate stands at 10.3 percent with 315 active cases. Cookeville Regional Medical Center is currently treating 62 patients. A Putnam County resident died last night at CRMC from COVID-19, the 58th death during the pandemic. It is the fourth person to die from COVID this week.
