Four Charged With First Degree Murder In Cookeville

Four people have been charged with first degree murder after a Sunday night shooting and robbery on Wildwood Drive in Cookeville.

Cookeville Police arrested 20-year-old Issac Sides of Cookeville, 22-year-old Kayla Cowen of Cookeville, 22-year-old Caleb Venable of Doyle, and 20-year-old Haleigh Watkins of Cookeville. The four are being held without bond in the Putnam County Jail.

Police responded to 2140 Wildwood Drive at 6:50pm Sunday evening. When officers arrived, they found 23-year old Brent Taylor Flatt of Cookeville with multiple gunshot wounds. Officers performed life-saving measures before he was transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Upon arrival, Flatt was pronounced dead.

Officers were also notified upon arrival that a second shooting victim had been transported to Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Caleb Venable was transferred to Vanderbilt Medical Center. Cookeville Police reported he has since been treated and released.

Cookeville Police continue the investigation into the case.
