The former executive director of the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency (UCHRA) has filed a lawsuit against the organization.
Luke Collins accuses multiple city and county mayors of soliciting bribes during his time as the agency’s executive director.
Current Executive Director Mark Farley said Collins’ decision to pursue a lawsuit against the agency is unfortunate.
“We believe all those claims are baseless,” Farley said. “We’re very saddened that Mr. Collins has chosen to go this route. Obviously the agency has moved on and he’s unwilling to accept the decision of the board.”
The lawsuit also states that Collins accuses the agency’s executive board of directors of improper termination of employment. The UCHRA’s board members are made of city and county mayors across the Upper Cumberland.
“We believe that many of those details are salacious and untrue,” Farley said. “We’re already in the process of filing a response with the court system.”
According to the lawsuit, Collins is seeking $500,000 in damages, including over $12,000 in unpaid vacation time and travel expenses that he accrued.
Attorneys Dan Rader III and Dan Rader IV will represent the UCHRA during the lawsuit.
