Former U.S. Congressman To Speak At Cookeville Democratic Party Meeting

Former U.S. Congressman Bob Clement will be the keynote speaker at the Putnam County Democratic Party’s February meeting.

Clement is an eight term congressman from Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District and the son of the late Tennessee Governor Frank Clement.

His talk will provide an analysis of the future of both Tennessee Democratic candidates for Governor in 2018, the U.S. Senate race, as well as local Democratic races.

“I am excited to welcome Congressman Clement to Cookeville; I have followed his career in Tennessee politics since I was in middle school, so for me this is an honor to host him and listen to him speak on the 2018 Governor’s Race, the current political climate, and his book, Presidents, Kings and Convicts,” Putnam County Democratic Party Chairman Amos Powers said. “This event will be one that you will not want to miss.”

The meeting will be held Tuesday February 13th at 6:00 p.m. at 111 North Cedar Avenue in Cookeville.
