A former log home salesman charged with theft has avoided jail time.
49-year-old Lawton Park entered a best interest plea in DeKalb County Criminal Court this week to a single count of theft over $10,000.
A grand jury previously indicted him on four counts of theft for allegedly taking money from clients and not delivering the product.
An out-of-state family had accused Park of entering into contracts for the sale of log home kits but never delivering the products after being paid.
A judge has sentenced Park to five years, but he will be on judicial diversion during that time. He must make restitution to the victims totaling more than $60,000
