Florida Marine Tanks Expanding To Cookeville

Florida Marine Tanks is expanding its manufacturing operations into Cookeville.

The marine tank manufacturer will be taking over a near-50,000-square-foot warehouse building on South Jefferson Avenue. They plan on opening their doors on January 2 of next year. President of Florida Marine Tanks Orestes Monterrey said the expansion was all about location.

“Cookeville’s centralized to our customers in the areas of Tennessee, Indiana and throughout that Midwest area.” Monterrey said. “Just trying to expand that footprint.”

Monterrey said the move to Cookeville was a strategic plan for the company. He said he will be bringing in close to 75 team members.

Monterrey said he has been working on getting this expansion done since 2018. He said this is the first time that the North Carolina-based company has expanded to a different state. The hiring process has already began.

“Very excited,” Monterrey said. “Just growing the business, trying to grab some new accounts and continue growing in the marine industry.”

Monterrey said the company has already began to get the building ready and have plans to expand further down the road.

“The next process is to just keep on expanding in that location,” Monterrey said. “We’ve added a couple machines. We’re going to be adding a few more machines and expanding that footprint in that area.”

Florida Marine Tanks manufactures OEM aluminum and rotationally molded fuel, water, and waste tanks. They have been in business for nearly 50 years.
