Crossville Police have arrested a Florida man for allegedly stealing a vehicle and fleeing from police Thursday.
25-year-old Robert Howard faces charges of felony evading arrest and motor vehicle theft.
A Crossville Police report stated that that officers observed Howard and another man inside a vehicle reported stolen earlier that day. Upon a traffic stop, police said a passenger, identified as 37-year-old Michael Paul Lenz, exited the car and Howard drove off at a high rate of speed.
The report stated that Howard crashed the vehicle and fled on foot at the corner of Obed Street and Highway 70 North.
A K-9 officer tracked Howard to the yard of a Daycare on Oak Grove Street. Officers arrested Howard and transported him to the Cumberland County Justice Center.
The report said Michael Paul Lenz also fled when Howard drove away from the traffic stop. Lenz has not been located at this time.
