Heavy rain Saturday morning producing some flooding around Putnam County.
Just before Noon, the County Road Department closed County Farm Road at Gainesboro Grade because of flooding. Cumby Road at Gainesboro Grade is also closed because of flooding.
The National Weather Service issues a flood advisory for Putnam County until 2:30pm Saturday. Minor flooding possible in the county especially along Blackburn Fork. That includes Double Springs, Center Grove, Freewill and the area around Cummins Falls State Park.
Emergency officials responded to an individual in a flooded vehicle on Gainesboro Grade between 10am and 11am Saturday. Flooding also reported along Dodson Branch Road at Kinnaird Road and along Whittaker Springs Road near Cookeville High School.
Rain showers are moving very slowly through middle Tennessee at this hour. National Weather Service forecasters report current radar trends should continue into the afternoon with the Upper Cumberland seeing a focus of showers and some rumbles of thunder.
The National Weather Service placed a Flood Advisory into effect across the southwestern portion of Jackson County, around Granville. Minor flooding expected in this area into Smith County over the next several hours.
