A flash flood warning issued for parts of the Upper Cumberland Thursday morning following flooding reports in Trousdale County.
The National Weather Service issued the warning for Northwestern Smith County, Northwestern Jackson County, Northwestern Clay County, Macon County and Trousdale County until 8:45am Thursday.
At 2:45am, Trousdale County officials reported streams at the edge of their banks and one stranded motorist due to high water in Hartsville. Heavier rains moved into the area Wednesday night with another one to two inches of rain possible through Thursday afternoon.
The National Weather Service extended a flood watch early Thursday to include Overton, Pickett and Putnam Counties.
EMA officials remind citizens to avoid flooded roads and do not attempt to cross them.
