Fire Leads To Evacuation Of Willow Avenue Apartments Friday

An early Friday morning fire forced evacuation of residents from the Eagle Summit Apartments just off the Tennessee Tech campus.

Residents reported seeing the flames in the roof of one unit around 5:45am. One resident said it appeared the fire was contained as of 6:10am.

The complex is located on Willow Avenue across from the Marc L. Burnett Student Recreation and Fitness Center in Cookeville.

Fire crews were still on the scene.
