Final Plat Approved For 47 Lot Subdivision In Putnam County

The Putnam County Regional Planning Commission approved the final plat for a 47-lot subdivision Tuesday.

Planning Director Kevin Rush said developers can move forward with recording an official plat after completing some final projects.

“They will have to submit a planning profile of the road,” Rush said. “They do have a $200,000 letter of credit to finish the road. That’s the only other utility that’s not in place.”

The property sits off Eller Ridge Road, just West of Highway 111. Rush said the plans for the subdivision got underway in 2007, but came to a halt due to the economy.

“It sat vacant for a while, but a new investor has bought it and wants to finish it and start selling lots,” Rush said.

Planning commissioners had concerns about an intersection combining Eller Ridge Road, Goolsby Lane, and Amber Meadows Road. Rush said developers have agreed to address the issue.

“That’s malfunction junction. I think we’ve got some of that worked out with this plat,” Rush said. “I think long-term, some of these side streets will be tied into this redeveloped Goolsby Lane and one of the entrances eliminated off of Eller Ridge.”

The planning commission unanimously approved the final plat during Tuesday evening’s meeting.
