Fentress County has officially set a date to open its new standalone ER.
County Executive Jimmy Johnson said though March 7th is later than they originally hoped, the county is happy for a light at the end of the tunnel.
“They had to do some moving of some electrical boxes and such that they had to move before work,” Johnson said. “But they are now in the stage of about to put some sheetrock up, they’re pouring more concrete. They’re working on the water supply.”
Johnson said after several delays, progress is moving smoothly. He said that because crews have all the materials needed, they don’t expect more delays.
Johnson said the ER located at the old Fentress Health Systems building will serve the community of Fentress County well.
