Work on Fentress County’s standalone ER set to start back up next week.
County Executive Jimmy Johnson said that the work was held up while waiting approval from the state.
“When they demo’d everything inside and took out what was in there, they had a new floor plan going in,” Johnson said. “And of course it has to have consistency in rooms and X-ray rooms, so the new floor plans had to go before the Department of Health to get the OK for how they would restructure the inside of the building.”
Johnson said that they had originally hoped the work would be completed this fall. He said that they are now hoping it will be finished before the end of the year.
