Fentress Health Department To Get New Canopy

Fentress County has taken the next step to get a new canopy at its Health Department.

County Executive Jimmy Johnson said that the plans for this replacement were actually set for last year, but the county ran out of time. He said that the current canopy is several years old.

“We actually are going to be putting a canopy on the front, it’s much-needed,” Johnson said. “It’ll be someplace also that we may be able to do COVID testing if we need to get out of the weather and such.”

Johnson said that the funding will come from the state’s health department at no cost to the county. He said that the bid approved by the County Commission was about $77,000.

Johnson said that they hope to begin work within the next 30 days.
