A bid approved for the replacement of the Fentress County Health Department roof.
A $29,600 bid from Turner Roofing was awarded the project. Finance Director Tyler Arms said there were awnings with soffit found to be rotting, which is going to increase the cost of the project.
“This is through the money with the health department, coming down from the state to do all this,” Arms said. “This isn’t anything out of the county budget whatsoever.”
One bid applicant that gave an estimate said they expected the the rotting soffit replacement to cost roughly $8,000. Arms said that while the county does not have an estimate from Turner Roofing that includes that replacement, it will come before them in the form of a change order.
