The Lodge at Fall Creek Falls is set to open in early 2022, that means time to ramp up hiring.
On-the-spot interviews are taking place Friday a. Park Manger Jacob Young said more than 60 new jobs are coming to Van Buren County with lodging returning to the park.
“When you get over here, there’s very much a family feel, it’s a very cool place to work because we are a big family and the visitors tie right into that,” Young said. “And then some of the most beautiful waterfalls anywhere to be found and then you drive over the lake if you’re working at the lodge.”
Anyone who does not make it to Friday’s job fair can still submit an application, potentially getting a virtual interview offer. Young said the excitement is building, with the whole community ready to open the lodge.
“It was sad when they closed the old inn, although we knew that a new building was coming,” Young said. “We’ve spent the last couple years watching it come up and that’s been exciting in itself but everybody is ready. The community is ready and all of our visitors are ready and so are we.”
Young said it is hard to quantify how important the lodge opening will be. He said with over 2,000,000 visitors a year, it helps businesses, the schools and the county workforce.
