Putnam County – Property Tax Reminder

Friday, February 28th will be the last day to pay property taxes in person at the Putnam County Trustee’s Office without penalties. Postmarks dated by Saturday the 29th will also be accepted without interest. Beginning March 1, interest will begin to accrue at 1.5 % per month until paid. Persons living in Baxter may also pay at the Bank of Putnam County and Putnam 1st Mercantile Bank Through February 29th. Those living in Monterey can pay at First Volunteer Bank of Bank of Putnam County. You must have your tax statement to pay at banks, and banks are not able to accept tax relief payments. There is still time to apply for tax relief if you think you might qualify. Putnam County Trustee office hours are Monday through Friday from 8 am- 4 pm.
