Engineers are testing Sparta’s Water Plant to find out why the motors overheat.
Public Works Dillard Quick said H & D Engineering found wiring issues but need to locate the cause.
“Some of the test he is wanting to run he’s suggesting us to not turn it back on, but we’ve got our other motors in the other building that we’re still running,” Quick said. “So right now we’re fine.”
Quick said on top of the wiring issue, the city has another motor out for maintenance that should return soon. Quick said engineers have recommended that the city professionally reinstall it as wiring tests continue.
