The Cumberland County Building and Grounds Committee has unanimously voted to prohibit election signs from being placed on the courthouse grounds.
The move comes after commissioners received several complaints from residents and businesses.
The committee has also passed a motion requesting county election officials to encourage candidates to not park campaign vehicles in front of the courthouse. Commissioners said the campaign vehicles take up space for people who are trying to conduct regular business at the courthouse.
The Cumberland County Commission will consider approving the measures during next month’s meeting.
