The Cookeville Regional Charitable Foundation hopes to see more people taking part in Tuesday’s Double Your Donation Day event.
Foundation Director John Bell said the annual event typically brings in about $30,000.
“We’ve got the same 200 people who like to give and we hope they give again, but we are really challenging folks this year,” Bell said. “If you’ve never made a gift to the foundation we are encouraging folks just to give $10 on Tuesday.”
Bell said the donations stay right here in the Upper Cumberland and help patients struggling with disease, sickness, or injury.
“Folks can choose any assistance fund or any program to give to tomorrow,” Bell said. “All those funds are 100-percent restricted, which means we don’t take any amount of money out for overhead or staff expenses. It all goes to assist those patients.”
A few of the fund options include the Pink Ribbon free mammogram program, Carmen’s Fund CPR education program, Art for Healing program, Cancer Fund, and Heart fund.
Bell said folks can donate by calling the foundation, visiting the foundation website, or mailing a check that is dated November 13th.
“It’s a one day matching gift challenge and we hope folks give on Tuesday,” Bell said.
Bell said Tuesday donations will be matched dollar-for-dollar up to $15,000. All donations are tax deductible gifts.
