Domestic Assault Turns To I-40 Arrest

A Crossville man faces multiple charges including felony evading arrest after a Thursday night domestic violence incident.

Crossville Police stopped 47-year-old Robert Desrosiers after a 911 call from his partner. Police found the Desrosiers yelling at the woman in a vehicle at the bottom of the Genesis Road ramp of Interstate 40. As police approached, Desrosiers gunned the motor as he screamed. He failed to comply with officer instructions at gunpoint. He put the vehicle in drive and began accelerating eastbound on I-40.

Police caught up to Desrosiers and he slowed onto the shoulder of the road but would not stop the vehicle. Other officers joined and boxed the car in along Interstate 40. Officers grabbed the man’s arms and got him out of the vehicle.

According to police reports, Desrosiers claimed his partner had hit him in the face. The woman said the man called her name and struck her. She called 911. Desrosiers grabbed her phone, the woman said, and threw it out the window. Police found the phone along the exit ramp.

Desrosiers faces charges of Felony Evading Arrest, Domestic Assault, and Offense of Preventing Another From Placing A 911 Call.
