Two trucks collided on Ditty Road in Putnam County Monday, causing diesel fuel to leak onto the roadway and nearby grass.
Officials said EMS has notified the Environmental Protection Agency and both lanes will be closed until further notice.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office said a large box truck carrying insulation collided with a log truck around 11:21 a.m. According to the release, the driver of the box truck crossed the median and struck the log truck on its left side.
The driver of the box truck will be charged with failure to use due care.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently working to establish a route through the area but advises all drivers to use Cowan Road and Academy Road as alternatives at this time.
