DeKalb County School Board has approved an almost $152,000 bid for new LED lights and poles.
This, as part of the ongoing efforts to make upgrades to DeKalb County High School’s football stadium. The purchase includes an entertainment package with the capability for onsite theatrical light show effects.
The Board also approved a $477,000 bid for new aluminum handicap-accessible bleachers. Principal and Athletic Bruce Curtis said one of the goals of the upgrades was to make the stadium more ADA-compliant to allow handicap folks to feel more a part of the crowd.
The new bleachers are estimated to be in place by the start of the next football season, with the lights hopefully installed by that year’s graduation.
