Dale Hollow Lake Road Reopens

Commuters that travel across Clay County’s Dale Hollow Lake Road will no longer have to find an alternative route as the road reopened Monday.

The road was originally closed for giant cranes setup on the roadway replacing the dam’s water flow gates. After the repairs were made, the pavement was also restriped by the county.

Shipping delays due to COVID caused the increased repair times. The road has been closed since June.

Dale Hollow Power Plant Superintendent Stanley Carter said the closure caused increased commute times and was an inconvenience to the power plant’s employees.
