A curfew remains in effect Wednesday night into Thursday morning in the area affected by Tuesday morning’s tornado.
According to Putnam County Sheriff Eddie Farris, officials will be working throughout the night Wednesday and the curfew will remain in place.
“The curfew is active starting at 7 P.M. tonight until 8 A.M. in the morning,” Farris said. “The curfew is only in effect in the affected area. It’s only required in the affected area. It’s not for the whole county. We had a little confusion last night on that.”
In addition to the ongoing curfew, a no fly zone has been established over the affected area. According to Farris, search efforts have been hampered by air traffic.
“We have asked and received from the FAA a temporary flight restriction over the area,” Farris said. “We had some issues over the last couple of days with flights coming over and flying at low altitudes and sort of hindering some of our search and getting in our space. That is also restricted for drones, as well.”
Farris said the flight restriction would remain in effect until Friday at 10 A.M.
