A Cumberland County jail trustee faces escape charges after fleeing from a work crew Friday.
Kevin Ryan McCulley, 21, was arrested Saturday at Crossville’s Executive Inn, just 24 hours after he escaped.
The arrest affidavit states McCulley was picking up litter with a work crew when he walked into the woods.
The investigation showed McCulley had conversations with others about escape.
Sheriffs in many counties use work crews for a variety of activities, from picking up litter to mowing grass. Inmates on the crews are known as “trustees” and have earned the right to work on a crew.
