Cumberland Playhouse Performances Suspended

Cumberland County Playhouse has suspended all performances after an employee became ill.

CEO Bryce McDonald said the suspension was mainly due to an abundance of caution for staff and patrons.

“It is just in this day and age, it is too scary to take any sort of risk,” McDonald said. “The minute we thought someone was not feeling well, it was best to close up shop for a week and postpone those performances.”

McDonald said all employees were tested for COVID. So far, all results have came back negative with 20 employees awaiting results. McDonald said the staff member who felt sick is starting to feel much better.

Performances are scheduled to resume with Flat Stanley on July 29th.

“Our goal is to get back in the office on Tuesday,” McDonald said. “We will begin rehearsal for our new comedy called Elvis Has Left The Building. Then begin performances on Wednesday.”

While the Playhouse closed, the facility has been sanitized in precaution.
