Cumberland Outages Down Under 600

Volunteer Energy reduced the number of Cumberland County residents without power to under 600 Monday night.

The 593 outages are centered right along the White County line. Across the line, 457 White County residents remain without power. 80 Putnam County customers of Volunteer Energy have no electricity as of Monday night.

Straight-line winds, estimated at between 80 and 85mph, blew across Highway 70 and Interstate 40 Sunday morning, causing the damage.
