Cumberland Officials Looking to Grow The Plateau

A new community marketing initiative in Cumberland County is looking to bring awareness to all the community has to offer.

Grow the Plateau is an effort to bring together community leaders together with the general public to generate ideas on how to market the county. Amy Garvin is the Marketing Director for Good Folks Marketing in Crossville.

“We’ll be launching a branding campaign that new for the area once we get all those results back in,” Garvin said. “That will help market our area to people that live here and visitors.”

Garvin said the group is in the initial stages of putting a marketing plan together. The website has links to a community survey and to a photo and video contest.

“We want to gather information about their satisfaction level with the area,” Garvin said. We want to find opportunities of things to do to increase activities and awareness of everything the area has to offer to both residents and visitors.”

Garvin said officials from across the county are working to develop a plan that not only highlights Crossville, but the rest of Cumberland County, as well.

“It’s multiple people from the Cumberland County area,” Garvin said. “That includes everyone on the joint economic board. Allen Foster, our (County) Mayor; James Mayberry, the Mayor of Crossville; as well as Ethan Hadley, the Chamber of Commerce Representative.”

The deadline for entry in the Photo and Video Contest is August 14. Complete details can be found on the website.
