Cumberland County may have to purchase a portion of property where the Crossville Arts Circle Library is at.
Cumberland County Mayor Kenneth Carey Junior said he’s been informed that part of the library sits on property owned by the Norfolk Southern Railroad. Railroad officials have offered to lease the property to the county, but the county building and grounds committee has recommended that the county purchase the property for $40,000.
Carey said if the county does nothing it could mean a court battle.
