The Cumberland County Election Office’s move to a new location began Friday.
Election Administrator Jill Davis said the need has been there for years, dating back to prior administrators. Davis said the new location gives them more room to operate.
“Just the space, we went from three locations to one,” Davis said. “Just combining everything we have in one location. Our machines were across the street and the signage and different storage was at the complex.”
Davis said the biggest question she has gotten from residents about the move is for early voting. She said residents need to know that starting on July 6, all business will be conducted at 83 Northside Lane, suite number 101.
The old Cumberland County Election Office will be closed from June 25 until July 5, reopening to the public on July 6. Davis said they will be sharing the new location with the county road department and maintenance department.
