Cumberland County Schools will be in session during the August 21st total solar eclipse.
During last night’s board of education meeting Director of Schools Janet Graham said each school will have specific lesson plans regarding the eclipse. She also said every student would receive special viewing glasses through a donation to the school system.
The total solar eclipse will be at maximum over Crossville at 1:30 p.m. sending the county and surrounding area into darkness for about two and a half minutes.
Earlier this week Smith County Director of Schools Barry Smith made the decision to close schools on the day of the eclipse.
