The first reported Upper Cumberland case of the coronavirus Thursday with a reported case in Cumberland County.
A Cumberland County Employee confirmed the case, but said they had no more information. No details on the case have been released from the state.
“I have full confidence in the ability of our local health care providers, both private and public, to handle the medical needs of Cumberland County,” County Mayor Allen Foster said. “I want to encourage everyone to remain vigilant in following the recommendations of the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), and the Tennessee Department of Health.”
That’s according to the Tennessee Department Of Health. A total of 154 cases have been reported statewide as of Thursday. 75 of those cases are in Davidson County. An additional 30 cases have been reported in Williamson County.
The state also reported 26 cases among residents of other states or countries tested in Tennessee. Thursday is the first time for that number.
75 of Tennessee’s 154 reported cases are between the ages of 21 and 40.
No one in Tennessee has died from COVID-19 according to state officials.
