Cumberland County’s Central Communications Committee has unanimously voted to terminate emergency communications dispatch director Mike Blackwood.
During a special called meeting Monday Cumberland County Mayor and Committee Chairman Kenneth Carey Junior said Blackwood allegedly falsified time sheet records. Carey also described conduct issues between Blackwood and his subordinates.
Carey Could not be reached for comment today. Crossville City Manager Greg Wood serves as Vice Chairman of the board. He responded by email today and said the board regretted having to make the decision, but felt it necessary for best operation of the communications center.
Blackwood served as E-911 Dispatch Director since the fall of 2015.
