Crossville Traffic Safety Campaign Seeks To Reduce Crashes

Law enforcement will step up patrols later this month along two state highways in Cumberland County.

Cumberland Overwatch begins November 21 in an effort to decrease crashes along Highway 70 North and Highway 127.

The latest statistics from the state reveal that crash numbers went from 63 to 91 between September and October. In addition, crashes resulting in injury jumped from 19 to 28 during the same time period.

Officials with the Crossville Police Department said officers will be cracking down on distracted driving and driving under the influence. The operation will take place through November 23.
