The Crossville City Council will consider renewing its contract with Azure Flight to operate the city’s airport.
The City Council discussed the item at its work session Tuesday night. City Manager Greg Wood said it is to be a 60-month contract.
“They did a revised contract, the city attorney looked it over and I think he said it looked pretty good,” Wood said. “So if you all are ready to move forward, it covered all the points that you discussed that you wanted to include in that document.”
Under the agreement, the company will continue to offer flying programs and maintain facilities.
At its last presentation in November, Azure Flight Support Partner Alan Howell said there are plans for four new hangars. Howell said the company is in serious talks with Whisper Aero to fund one of the projects. The technology startup develops electric thrusters for drones and named Crossville as its headquarters last year.
The City Council will consider the agreement at its meeting March 14th.
