Crossville PD Reports Traffic Citation Scam

Crossville Police report fake emails are being sent to local residents alerting the recipient to a supposed traffic citation.

The scam started Friday. According to police, the email said the citation must be paid within 72 hours. It includes a link to an “EasyPay Center” where recipients can pay. The email and the pay link are both fake.

Crossville Police said they do not email traffic citations. Vehicle registrations do not contain email addresses.
