Crossville Man Killed In Interstate 40 Motorcycle Accident Monday

A Crossville man died when his Honda motorcycle struck a tractor trailer in Putnam County Monday.

The crash happened around 2:30 p.m. on Interstate 40 eastbound near mile marker 295.

The deceased identified as 73-year-old Michael Smith.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said Smith struck the rear of the freightliner when he went from the left lane to the right lane.

Smith succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
