Crossville Man Faces Possession Charges

A Crossville man faces oxycodone possession charges after being found passed out in a vehicle Tuesday afternoon.

57-year-old Lewis Mathew Turner found inside his vehicle outside a Crossville hardware store. Police reports said Turner told police he got dizzy and had to sit in his car. Police noticed an open beer container and wires coming from his glove box consistent with hidden compartments.

Turner refused requests to search the car, so Crossville Police employed its K-9 unit. After the dog found evidence of drugs, officers searched and found an unlabeled pill bottle with Oxycodone inside. Turner told police he did not have a prescription for the pills.

Police booked Turner on a simple possession charge.
