A Crossville man faces charges after breaking into an apartment building and threatening an officer.
According to the Crossville Police Department, 41-year-old Jamie Presley faces one count each of aggravated burglary, aggravated assault, and resisting arrest.
Police responded to a call around 11:16 p.m. in the area of Davidson Court and Miller Avenue Sunday night when they discovered Presley inside the building.
The arresting officer reports Presley grabbed a 2×4 board with nails once he saw the officer and the K9 unit, threatening both with the weapon. Presley dropped his weapon following a near 10-minute standoff with the officer.
The officer was not injured during the response although Presley suffered minor lacerations from attempting to break into the building. Presley was also arrested on three outstanding warrants.
