The City of Crossville has offered to purchase land that would be used for extra parking in the downtown area.
The city has offered $275,000 for the old handle mill property on Thurman and Webb Avenue.
“I think it’s gonna be a very valuable asset to the city and the county for parking for the library and parking for the courthouse,” Crossville City Councilman Danny Wyatt said.
Wyatt also said restrooms and a mini park could be added to the area as well.
The purchase of the 3 acre property stipulates that the owner would have to secure property from the railroad. The city’s offer will be good for 60-days.
