Crossville, Cumberland County Awarded $50,000 ThreeStar Grant

Crossville and Cumberland County will be looking to create a new marketing message in the near future.

County Mayor Allen Foster said a $50,000 grant will help develop the new message.

“We’ve got a lot going on here in Cumberland County and in the City of Crossville,” Foster said. “But sometimes we don’t have a cohesive message to get that out there. So we wanted to use that money for branding and maybe a little website development. That way we can let people understand what all we have going on here.”

The state awarded Cumberland County and Crossville the ThreeStar Grant earlier this month. Communities can use the funding for a variety of local community development initiatives.

“The ThreeStar grant program has a proven track record of success,” State Department of Economic and Community Development Commissioner Bob Rolfe said. “TNECD is proud to assist communities that are committed to improving their workforce readiness and quality of life with these types of innovative local programs.”

TNECD awarded $2.4 million to Tennessee communities during the latest round of the ThreeStar grant program. A total of 10 Upper Cumberland counties received $880,000 through the grant program this year.
