Crossville City Council members will not consider the purchase of the Village Inn until January.
The item was up for discussion but tabled during a Tuesday work session. City Attorney Randy York said the owner needed to further discuss the possibility with his attorney.
Owner Dr. Robert “Buck” Wood has offered to sell the inn to the city for $450,000. The former motel has turned into low-income-housing. It temporarily shut down earlier this year due to code infractions.
The nature of how the city closed the inn lead to the suspension of City manager Greg Wood.
